A recipe for dry cough and chest congestion
Benefits: It heplps to relieve dry cough, chest congestion, throat infection or sore throat , upper respiratory tract ailments.
Onion – 1 small
Cow ghee – 50 gm
Jaggery – 50 gm
Turmeric – 8gm
Method of Preperation:
Heat ghee in a ladle then add finely chopped onion,cook till it become pink and soft after this immediately add jaggery and turmeric and cook it for 2 minutes.
Dose: 20-30 gm(dose depends on the severity of condition)
Note: (Try to have this preparation hot, as much as you can)
A mixture of Milk and turmeric
Benefits : Good remedy for antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory action. Beside this it also helps in vasodilation , hypercholestrolemia , burning sensation of palm and sole.
Milk - 250 ml
Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - according to taste.
Method of Preperation : Boil 250 ml of milk and add a teaspoon of turmeric in it. After this switch off the burner and drink it warm if possible. Use of sugar is depends on persons wish.
Dose : 250 ml at bed time ( Note : avoid to drink immediately after dinner.)
Decoction of Ajwain/caraway/ bishop's weed
Benefits : Best Carminative agent, digestive agent, analgesic, anti inflammatory, dysmenorrhoea, constipation.
Water - 250 ml
Caraway seeds - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - desired
Method of Preparation : Boil 250 ml water after boiling switch off the gas stove, and add 1 teaspoon caraway seeds . Cover this mixture for 10 mins with a lid.
Dose : 250 ml empty stomach or before food.
A mixture of water and yogurt/curd
Benefits: Good for digestion, effectively treats IBS, ulcerative colitis, mucus in stool.
Water- 200 ml
Curd/Yogurt- 4 times of water
Salt - as per taste
Roasted cumin powder- 1 tablespoon
Method of Preperation : Mix all ingredients together and drink before meal.
Best Season to use this in summer and avoid in monsoon or rainy season.
